My name is Tamzen. There's a lot of things I could tell you about myself. That I have a husband, two kids, and a dog. That I have been doing CrossFit for 10 years. That I love to travel, tutor calculus, and watch birds. But that's not why I'm here, and probably not why you're here either. 

Words That Walk came about after years of teaching the Bible and witnessing so many Christians who want to know their Bibles but feel ill equipped. In 2024 I was invited by my local church to teach a class on practical Bible literacy tools in preparation for our regular Bible study programming. In preparing for that course, I got fired up about the content and realized there was so much more to teach than we could fit into one workshop. 

The same week, a friend shared with me that her teenager had visited a church with a friend and walked away confused about what they'd experienced there. In an effort to determine what the Bible had to say about it, the teenager went to his own pastor to get his perspective which the pastor gladly gave. I found myself thinking, I wish the pastor had shown this student how to search the Bible for what it said on the subject and then invited him back to discuss his findings. You know the saying, teach a man to fish... 

It just fed my passion to equip fellow believers with tools that will help them become good students of the Bible. Tools that will help them know how to seek answers, test the things they hear, and learn day by day more of who God is and how to Walk in a way that pleases him.
